By using Kakuso, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language because we believe clarity matters more than legalese.
1. The Service
Kakuso is a Japanese learning platform offering a kanji dictionary, vocabulary tools, and spaced repetition study features. The dictionary is free for everyone. Premium subscriptions unlock expanded study lists.
2. Accounts
You can create an account using your email address or Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person.
3. Premium Subscriptions
Premium plans are available as monthly, yearly, or lifetime purchases. Prices are displayed on our pricing page. You may upgrade your plan at any time (monthly to yearly, or any plan to lifetime). Downgrading is not available — cancel your current plan and resubscribe after it expires. If your premium expires, your study list limit returns to 20 items. Only the first 20 items will be active for review, and you won't be able to add more until you resubscribe.
4. Payments & Refunds
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. For refund requests, please contact us — we handle them on a case-by-case basis.
5. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data including study progress. Active subscriptions must be canceled before account deletion.
6. Service Changes
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Kakuso at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
7. Limitation of Liability
Kakuso is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, study progress, or interruption of service.
